A recently retired veteran relocated to San Antonio because of the injuries I sustained in Iraq, and because of my relocation, I have become a huge supporter of the San Antonio Spurs.

Time for others to step up posted on 09/01/2008
Well, now all Spurs fans know that surgery is the choice for Manu Ginobli, winner of the NBA's Sixth Man Award. No other player can come off any other team's bench and make quite the same impact that Manu can. However, for at least the first three months of the season, San Antonio will have to find another player to fill in for Manu while he recovers from surgery on his bothersome ankle. Who will that player be? Michael Finley? Matt Bonner? Or will it be some other player yet to be discovered. Can Tony, Tim, Bruce and company make up the difference on their own? I would answer a resounding no because whenever Duncan gets into foul trouble or the NBA's toughest defender in Bruce Bowen starts getting called for fouls, who comes off the bench? Is San Antonio in trouble??? posted on 08/25/2008
For those of us who follow the Spurs, we have received some very distressing news with regards to the upcoming season. One of our stars is likely NOT going to be suiting up this year because of surgery to repair his ankle, and that star would be Manu Ginobli. I know many of us would have rather seen him resting on a lounge chair letting his ankle heal, but the Manu we all know and love simply loves to play the sport of basketball. So, when given an opportunity to represent his home country in the Olympic Games in Beijing, he of course was there in a New York minute, even though he likely was advised against playing by several sports trainers from the Spurs staff.
